FAQ
What is imean.it?
A permanent public record of who said what, and when. You make a claim about the future, put your name to it, and it's entered into the record — dated, numbered, kept. Built to outlast you: what you say today can be looked up long after you're gone.
Why bother?
Everyone claims to know what's coming. Almost no one leaves proof. Being right is worth little if there's no record you said it. This is where you leave one.
Why $5?
Putting your name and money to a claim is what makes it mean something. The $5 pays for review and for keeping your claim on the record permanently.
What happens after I submit?
Your claim enters the review queue. Every entry is reviewed by hand. You'll hear back, usually within a few hours — approved, with a link to your page, or rejected, with a reason.
You can check where your entry stands anytime at imean.it/status — enter your email and we'll send you a secure link to its status.
How long does review take?
Usually within a few hours.
How long does my claim stay up?
Forever. That's the whole point. Long after the deadline, long after you're gone, anyone can pull it up and see exactly what you said, and when.
What gets rejected?
Claims that aren't claims — vague feelings, hot takes with no deadline. Claims that break the rules — slurs, harassment, doxxing, threats, illegal content, impersonation, spam. Anything that reads like a test.
Do I get a refund if I'm rejected?
The $5 is non-refundable, with narrow exceptions. A claim rejected purely for quality — too vague, not a real claim — is refunded. A claim rejected for breaking the rules (slurs, harassment, doxxing, impersonation, spam) is not, and we cite the rule you agreed to. Billing errors and technical failures to deliver are always refunded.
Can I edit or delete my claim later?
No. A claim you can walk back means nothing. Once published, it stands — no edits, no deletions, no takebacks. If we remove an entry after publication for breaking the rules, it comes down without a refund.
Do I have to use my real name?
You have to use a name. We don't verify it — but the record is built on putting your name to what you said. A fake name only cheats the person using it.
Is the photo required?
No. A face makes the entry feel more real, but plenty stand on the name alone.
Is this anonymous?
No — the opposite. Your claim is public, tied to your name, kept forever.
What happens when the deadline passes? Do you check if I was right?
No. We don't check outcomes or hand out badges. The record makes no judgment — it holds what you said, and when. What it means is for the world to decide.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Payments are handled by Gumroad, a regulated merchant of record, so we never see your card details.
Will I pay more than $5?
Only if your country charges tax. Our price is a flat $5, everywhere. Local VAT / GST, where it applies, is added at checkout — that part goes to your government, not to us.
What if I change my mind right after paying?
The $5 is non-refundable, so a change of heart isn't grounds for one. Standing behind your words is the whole point — that's why the fee is real. Where the law gives you a refund right, we honor it.
